Diesel and Sacha's photo session at Castle Hill Heritage Park

It was Staffy overload at Castle Hill Heritage Park for my photo session with Diesel and Sasha, and I loved it. Granted, Sasha is part German Shepherd, but she had the pure heart of a Staffy and a loveable attitude too.

Lucky for us it wasn't too hot of a Summer's day for our photo session, and being a weekday the park was relatively quiet. Sarah, their pet parent, asked to be in some of the images with her dogs, which I love and support so so so much. As someone who didn't like being in photos, I now cherish all the images I have with my dogs.

We began our session with images of Diesel and Sacha individually, followed by a few group images. Diesel is a young boy at only 2 years old, but did so well sitting next to his older sister. Although the weather was cooler, we still took breaks during the session for quick drinks and to give the dogs a mental break. Photo sessions are a huge mental exercise for dogs, and you don't realise how much concentrating is involved until the dogs get home and crash.

After a quick break we changed locations in the park and Sarah joined her dogs in for photos. We began with posed photos of Diesel, then he showed us his shake trick and I of course took a photo of that. Sacha decided to take a more relaxed approach and sat down for her photos. Keeping with the sitting poses, we moved to a small flight of stairs where once again Sarah posed with Diesel first then Sacha. 

We finished our session with some walking images of Sarah with Diesel and Sacha together. Sacha, being an older girl, was getting tired and ended the session so she had energy to walk back to the car.

A few months after our session, Sarah sent me this message to let me know Sasha had passed away peacefully:

"Hi Allira, just wanted to say thank you for my beautiful photos. Sasha passed away yesterday and I’m super lucky to have great photos thanks to you! You have been great and so flexible and as originally they were for my horse but he also passed so I’m glad I didn’t wait longer to book them in."
