Matilda Park Heavy Performance Horses photo session

30 June, 2015

When I read a post on Facebook looking for a photographer who would be interested in a wedding photo session with a heavy horse how could I say no?

Ashley is the owner of George, a stunning Clydesdale who can do just about anything. I have photographed both Ashley and George at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and then a few months later cantering around a cross country course. Talk about a versatile breed!

The lovely couple that joined us for the photo session were Naomi and Ben. Their wedding was in November last year and was featured on the website Easy Weddings. If you would like to view some amazing pictures or read more information about their country style wedding click here.

The photo session was held on a surprisingly warm Winters day to the relief of Naomi who was wearing her beautiful wedding dress made by her mother. Heads turned as George was led into Wahroonga Park followed by Naomi and Ben. People kept approaching us either for a photo with George or to congratulate the happy couple. We all had a giggle and explained that this was just a photo session and the wedding was last year.

Wahroonga Park was so picturesque with many features such as big oak trees, a flower arch, flower beds overflowing with Winter flowers and a perfectly manicured lawn. George took it all in his stride standing still and didn't flinch with both children and dogs running around in the background. The only problem we did have was he was getting desensitized to everything which made it hard to get his ears forward!

Here are just a few images from the session, for more information or if you are interested in a photo session with your horse please get in contact by clicking here.
